Life can sometimes seem overwhelming. And the responsibilities of being a Christian can sometimes feel burdensome. But God has need for our success and sense of well being. For it is through us that, when we are willing to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and a servant of God, that His Will is done. When we seek communion with God through prayer we can trust God to send us His powerful energies to provide solace and comfort to help us through our heavy trials and our deepest pain.
Nevertheless, we also understand that even though God may not answer our prayers exactly as we ask them, we know that we are never without the comfort we receive from our God and the Son of God, The Christ, that helps us through our trying times.
At Christ Congregational United Church of Christ we believe in the power of the group and in the power of Communal Prayer. To access the group and harness the power of Communal Prayer we have a sustaining Prayer List where we submit our own names and the names of family, loved ones, and friends who are in need of Gods helping and sustaining energies.
Names are added to the prayer list for many different reasons. They include health concerns and the need for dealing with major medical issues; personal concerns; absolution and forgiveness for what one may perceive as poor decisions and destructive behavior; the need for solace and comfort; and strength and resilience needed for difficult tasks.
You may add anyone's name to our communal prayer list. It is not necessary to say why you add yourself or others to the list. However, if you wish to do that you may do so.
If you want to enlist the power of Communal Prayer, please submit your name or other names by email to: Communal Prayer List.
